Don Maynard Memorial 5-Miler

Mark Mayall and Pamela Hollasch, both of Maynard, Mass., were the overall winners of the Don Maynard Memorial 5-Miler, which drew a field of nearly 300 finishers over a route that was revised because of flood damage on the original course. Mayall finished in 17 minutes, 31 seconds, edging Bill Freeman of Maynard by eight seconds. Michael Edwards of Maynard was third in 18:02. Hollasch placed eighth overall in 19:33, well ahead of her closest competitor in the women's division, Lisa Williams (21:05) of Concord, Mass. Melissa Shamgochian of Maynard was third among the women (21:47).
